Stereotactic Radiosurgery

1. Started the first Stereotactic radiosurgery Unit in South Asia Carried out the first Stereotactic Radiotherapy and Stereotactic Radiosurgery procedure on May 27 and May 30 1995 at the Apollo Speciality Hospitals, Chennai. First Neurosurgeon from South Asia to become a Member of the International Stereotactic Radiosurgery Society 1996. Have one of the largest experience in this subspecialty in South Asia. Have presented number of papers nationally and internationally in this area. Responsible for helping set up several new radiosurgery units and training neurosurgeons.

2. First neurosurgeon from South Asia to be formally trained in Robotic radiosurgery and the first from this region to become a member of the CyberKnife Society in 2008.
